More affordable Housing for El Paso
By Arthur Ian Muela
According to the website of the U.S Census Bureau the population of the United States on November 27, 2011 is 312, 676, 187. With the population growing rapidly the housing market has a high demand for affordable houses. Due to the recent recession many people have lost their jobs and they are not able to purchase a home. The government should take action and create programs or policies to help certain home buyers who can qualify to obtain help from the government to purchase a home. People who receive the help from the government must qualify and be considered a low income household in order to receive the help. Also the government should provide appropriate conditions for the houses made for low income families.
The United States has a high level of people who are considered of a low income and cannot afford a decent house. There are many people who can qualify into the low income households such as: Immigrants, recent college graduates, college students and senior citizens.
There are many affordable houses in the United States however, they are not in good conditions. Some houses need to have major things fixed such as cracks on the walls, poor air conditioner or heater and with unsanitary conditions. Another problem that they have is that they affordable houses are placed on horrible neighborhoods with gangs and without a nice infrastructure. Why cant there be any affordable houses with resources that look like for people with a higher income?

In conclusion, we can see that there are many policy’s we can change or maybe create for those who do not have much money to afford a house. We need the support of the government to create more affordable houses for those families that are migrating to the U.S. or just those who are beginning a family. People in the U.S. need some help and the government should offer them in order for citizens to be successful. However, these low income families also pay taxes like everyone else and they should receive some type of help.
